RESPECT & RESPONSIBILITY RECOGNITION
This year students will be recognized and rewarded each month for Respect & Responsibility. Core and Encore teachers will alternate each month and choose one deserving student per period. Those selected will earn a treat during their lunch period.

R and R expectations

 VIRGINIA READERS’ CHOICE BOOK CLUBS
Students who are interested in joining a monthly book club during their lunch periods should contact Ms. O’Connor at [email protected]. We will choose one of the 10 Virginia Readers’ Choice titles to read each month and discuss. In the spring, students will be able to vote in the statewide election for their favorite book of the year.

FREE ONLINE TUTORING
PWCS Students now have access to free, unlimited online tutoring through a new partnership with Paper. Students can get help with their homework, receive feedback on their writing assignments, or ask questions about any academic subject. Tutors are currently available 24/7 to help students in English, Spanish, French, and Mandarin. See the attached flyer for more info.

HIGH SCHOOL SPECIALTY PROGRAMS
Prince William County Public Schools is pleased to provide a wide range of high school program opportunities for our students. Students may participate in the comprehensive program at their base high school, apply for the specialty program at their base high school, or apply to transfer to another high school for a specialty program.
Students may also apply to Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology, The Governor's School @ Innovation Park, and the Summer Residential Governor's School Program. We hope you will consider the wide range of choices available to Prince William County students.

Information Sessions
Specialty Program information nights are held in October and offer an overview of each program and the application process. Program specific information nights are held at each high school.

WOLFPACK ADVISORY COUNCIL Are you interested in joining our Wolfpack Advisory Council? Our Wolfpack Advisory Council advises and monitors the implementation of the Lake Ridge Middle Continuous Improvement plan which includes the budgetary process and operational procedures as well as the academic, emotional, and social, growth of our students. Home Athletic Events:
All home athletic events start at 5:15 p.m. to ensure travel time and proper warm-ups for the away school and officials. Our ticket tables will not be opening and taking tickets until 5 p.m. You must have a ticket to gain entrance into the Athletic Event. Students that are staying after for the Athletic Events MUST go home and return before gaining entry into the event. If you are attending any Event, PWCS enacted a No-Bag policy for the events. This includes backpacks, purses, camera equipment bags, etc. Small wallet-sized clutch bags, clear diaper bags, and medically necessary bags are permitted. You will be asked to return your bag to the car before being sold a ticket. Thank you for your cooperation.

In PWCS, there is a strong message about Positive Sportsmanship between our StudentAthletes, Opponents, Coaches, Officials, Fans, and most importantly Parents. Our studentathletes are out here to compete in a manner that produces a positive impact on and off the field. Be that role model for our student-athletes by starting the positive sportsmanship in the stands.
