- 7th & 8th Grade Back to School Night will be on Thursday, September 22nd from 6-8 p.m.
Satellite parking and shuttle service will be available to/from Woodbridge High School.
BACK TO SCHOOL DANCE
We will be having our first dance of the year on September 16th from 3-5 p.m. Permission slips will be handed out September 14 and tickets will be sold during lunches on September 15 & 16. The permission slip will also be posted on the Student Canvas page.
FREE ONLINE TUTORING
PWCS Students now have access to free, unlimited online tutoring through a new partnership with Paper. Students can get help with their homework, receive feedback on their writing assignments, or ask questions about any academic subject. Tutors are currently available 24/7 to help students in English, Spanish, French, and Mandarin. See the attached flyer for more info.
WOLFPACK ADVISORY COUNCIL
Are you interested in joining our Wolfpack Advisory Council?
Our Wolfpack Advisory Council advises and monitors the implementation of the Lake Ridge Middle Continuous Improvement plan which includes the budgetary process and operational procedures as well as the academic, emotional, and social, growth of our students. Our first meeting will be October 26, 2022 through Zoom. If you are interested in participating, please email Ms. Merica at [email protected] by October 7th.

BACK TO SCHOOL PACKET
Please make sure to login to your ParentVue account and complete the 2022-23 Back to School
Packet (Returning Students). This allows you to make updates to your student’s emergency
contacts, phone numbers, email addresses, etc… Once logged into ParentVue, select Online
Records and choose the Back to School packet from the dropdown menu. This needs to be
completed whether or not any changes are being made. We currently have just over 50%
returned.
DONATIONS NEEDED
Ms. Hargest, our new General Music Teacher, is introducing bucket drumming to the music
curriculum. She needs about 40 gently used drumsticks and/or 40 clean 5-gallon buckets (like
those found at Lowe’s/Home Depot). If you would like to donate any, please drop them by the
front office.
BOOK FAIR
Be sure to visit our Book Fair homepage at
https://bookfairs.scholastic.com/bf/lakeridgemiddleschool to preview the fair and set up an eWallet for your student. You will also be able to shop online here beginning September 15th. The Book Fair will open 30 minutes before the start of both Back-to-School nights: Thursday September 15th for 6th grade parents and Thursday September 22 for 7th and 8th. Hope to see you there!

EARN DESSERT FOR READING
6th Grade Readers, Lake Ridge Middle School Library is sponsoring a special dessert luncheon
to encourage reading! We hope that every student enjoys the habit of reading for pleasure, at
home, for at least 20 minutes each day. Please see the attached flyer with more information.

LOST & FOUND
Students who have lost an item, while at school, can look for their lost belongings in the
following locations:
- Water bottles/clothes/shoes, etc… The cafeteria has a lost & found table.
- Phones/electronics/house keys…. These items are returned to the front office for safer keeping.
Daily announcements regarding sports, clubs, and events are read at dismissal over the intercom.
We also post the announcements on the Student Canvas page. Parents can use their Canvas
Observer account to also view those announcements. If you haven’t setup a Parent Canvas
Observer account, instructions can be found on our website by clicking on the Parents icon at
the top of the page. Then scroll down to the LRMS Canvas section.

We are extending the socks fundraiser order deadline to September 23rd. If a family signs up for
a PTO membership, they will receive a $2 discount on socks. The discount code will be emailed

Volleyball/Soccer Games:

All home athletic events start at 5:15 p.m. to ensure travel time and proper warm-ups for the
away school and officials. Our ticket tables will not be opening and taking tickets until 5 p.m.
You must have a ticket to gain entrance into the Athletic Event. Students that are staying after
for the Athletic Events MUST go home and return before gaining entry into the event. If you are
attending any event (indoor or outdoor), PWCS enacted a No-Bag policy for the events. This
includes backpacks, purses, camera equipment bags, etc. Small wallet-sized clutch
bags, clear diaper bags, and medically necessary bags are permitted. You will be asked to
return your bag to the car before being sold a ticket. Thank you for your cooperation.

Visa Cards - Free with 4th Quarter Visa
Senior Citizens - Free
