WOLF WEEKLY
August 30, 2026

Good evening Lake Ridge Middle School Parents/Guardians-

AFTERNOON DISMISSAL
We would like to remind parents that during arrival and dismissal you should not be parking in a space and letting your student in/out.  You must get in the kiss & ride line along with everyone else.  This allows for a safer and more efficient process.  Parents should not be dropping off or picking up students in the larger upper parking lot.

LOCKDOWN DRILL
This week, students will be participating in a lockdown drill which will teach them what to do in the event of a real lockdown situation.  This is just a drill.

ROBOTICS
There will be an interest meeting for students interested in joining the VEX Robotics team over Zoom at 5 pm this Monday. Click here to access meeting. Applications for the team can be found by looking at the club board, in the front office, or by emailing Mr. McLaughlin. These are due by September 3rd. Please reach out to [email protected] if you have any questions or concerns.

DRONE TEAM
Aerial Wolves Drone Team applications can be found on the team/club board (by the Library) or in room 1308. The applications are due by September 4th.  2-day tryouts will be on Sept. 8 and 9th. You must come to both days of tryouts. Please email Coach Oden ([email protected]) if you have any questions.

PTSO
Our PTO has the following volunteer opportunities available for anyone interested.

 BOOK FAIR
The Fall Scholastic Book Fair is coming! September 14-25!   If you are interested in volunteering to help during the Book Fair, please use this link.

Families can use this link to set up e-Wallets, preview the fair, and shop online! You can also pre-order the new titles: Dog Man: A Sprinkle in Time and Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Fight or Flight!  Both come out later this fall and will be delivered straight to the student’s home if pre-ordered.

Book Fair will be open 5:30 to 7:00 pm on each Back to School night. Thank you for supporting our library!

ATHLETICS
As we are getting ready for tryouts to start on Monday, here are a few highlights to remember for next week:

  • The weather is looking to be warm next week, if tryouts are cancelled due to the heat index a message will be sent through Arbiter as quickly as possible. Our Athletics Coordinator, Mr. Larson, is a teacher first and will be instructing throughout the day.
  • Make sure your tryout bag is packed the night before and ready to grab in the morning. Dropoffs in the main office are discouraged as it is the athlete’s responsibility to be prepared for tryouts.
  • We are expecting large numbers with all teams this fall. Please be patient with us throughout the check-in process as it might take some time to ensure all athletes are fully approved.
  • If you have signed up for multiple sports this fall, please pick one to attend. Due to schedules and numbers, we cannot accommodate multiple teams during a season. Tryouts might extend after Labor Day due to high numbers.
  • Hustle and positive attitude are encouraged by all athletes; it's free and encourages other athletes throughout the entire tryouts.
