WOLF WEEKLY
February 22, 2026

Good evening Lake Ridge Middle School Parents/Guardians-

LOCKDOWN DRILL
This week we will be conducting a Lock Down Drill where students will be instructed on what to do in the event of a real lockdown emergency.  This will only be a drill.

WINTER DANCE
NJHS will be sponsoring our Winter Dance this Friday, February 27th from 3-5pm.  Permission slips will be distributed to students on Wednesday, during lunch, and tickets can be purchased, during lunches, on Thursday and Friday.  Tickets will not be sold after 1:30 pm on Friday.  The cost of a dance ticket will be $3.  We will have designated classrooms for students to lock up their backpacks while attending the dance.

TAKE HOME LUNCHES DURING RAMADAN
There are take home lunches available for students who may be fasting during the school day.  You can request one from our cafeteria staff during your lunch period.  Please see the attached flyer with the daily menu.

ACCESS TESTING
ACCESS testing will continue this week for select students. Please make sure your student arrives to school on time, with their device charged, and heads directly to Advisory on those days, even if they are not testing. We will be enforcing silent hallways throughout the day, so please be mindful and respectful to students who are testing these days.

End of Year Requirements for Attendance to Activities
To attend the FUN DAY and 8th Grade Dance, students must meet the following criteria starting the 4th Marking Period (April 7):

  1. Library Books and Fines:
    • All library books must be returned.
    • No outstanding fines.
  2. Disciplinary Referrals:
    • Any student receiving a referral that receives exclusionary discipline (Out of School Suspension) will lose the privilege to attend.
    • Students with 3 referrals resulting in 1-hour after-school detention to Saturday school (non-exclusionary discipline) will not be able to attend unless they complete 1 hour of community service* with a staff member.  The staff member must sign off on the completed time. This is a one-time opportunity. If that student receives a 4th referral, that results in non-exclusionary discipline they will not be allowed to attend.

These requirements ensure that students are responsible and maintain good behavior leading up to these events.

*The deadline for completing community service prior to the 8th grade Dance is May 18, 2026.

The deadline to complete community service for Fun Day is June 2, 2026.

Students are responsible for picking up a Community Service Form and scheduling their own Community Service.  Forms will be available in the front office. Community Service must be performed at LRMS with a staff member.

Athletes are reminded to bring their stuff for practice/meets with them to school. If an athlete forgets something for practice/game, please wait until after 3:05 p.m. to drop off so as not to interfere with buses.

As we have finished the 2nd Quarter, this is a reminder that any student attending after-school events must be Academically Eligible. If a student received more than 1 Failure in a class, they will not be allowed to attend an after-school event.

PWCS enacted a no-bag policy for all indoor athletic events at the middle school level. This is in alignment with the policy currently in place at all high schools. This includes backpacks, purses, camera equipment bags, etc. Small wallet-sized clutch bags, clear diaper bags, and medically necessary bags are permitted. These bags may be subject to search. This policy went into effect for indoor athletic events at all middle schools on Monday, January 10, 2022. Our school will have a plan in place to secure any student bookbags as needed during athletic events. We will not be responsible for securing bags from any attendees who are not students at our school. Signage will be posted to remind attendees prior to arriving at the ticket area. We thank you in advance for adhering to this policy and look forward to having you with us to cheer on our student-athletes.

Monday will be an “A” day.
