Good evening Lake Ridge Middle School Parents/Guardians-
END OF QUARTER 2 / SEMESTER 1
The last day of the 2nd marking period and 1st semester is January 22, 2026. The end of each grading period is an important time to review your student’s progress and attendance. Families are encouraged to check in on your student’s real-time grades through ParentVUE and to discuss their performance. Students and families are reminded about our late work policy and the importance of students taking advantage of retakes. New quarter classes for 6th and 7th grade students and new semester classes for 8th grade students will begin for students on January 27, 2026.
MATH BOWL
The 2026 LRMS Math Bowl will be held at Lake Ridge Middle School on Wednesday, January 28, 2025 from 3:00-5:45pm. The purpose of the Math Bowl is to cultivate interest in mathematics through healthy competition. Students will have an opportunity to work on challenging middle-school level math problems both individually and as part of a team.
If you are interested in participating, the deadline has been extended to signup. Please fill out the application form, on the Student Canvas page, no later than Friday, January 10, 2025.
FAMILY TRIVIA NIGHT
We invite all LRMS parents and students to join us on Friday, January 30, from 6:00 to 7:30 PM in the school cafeteria. Please note that all students must attend with an adult. Cheese and pepperoni pizza will be served, along with sodas. We will also have prizes for the winners of Trivia Night. Please be sure to complete the RSVP form so we can order enough pizza and drinks for everyone. We look forward to seeing you there and sharing a fun evening together.
ATHLETICS
Student athletes who have submitted their paperwork for Girl’s Basketball and Wrestling should receive messaging, via Arbiter, from our Athletic Coordinator. Tryouts will begin on Tuesday, January 20 and will run from 3-5 p.m.
There is no school for students on Monday, January 19th in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. In addition, there is no school for students on Friday, January 23rd as it is a division wide teacher workday.
Tuesday will be an “A” day.
