Good evening Lake Ridge Middle School Parents/Guardians-
FOOD DELIVERIES PROHIBITED
We would like to remind parents that food deliveries cannot be accepted for students. Please do not use Grub Hub, Door Dash, or any other 3rd party service to deliver food to your student. The front office will deny the delivery and send it back. Parents can drop it off themselves, but they should coordinate with their child ahead of time. We cannot interrupt classroom instruction to notify students that food was brought by their parent. Students are encouraged to swing by the front office, as they head to lunch, to pick up any food they may be expecting.
SPIRIT WEEK
We have our first Spirit Week, of the year, this week. We hope to see everyone participating and showing their spirt.
- Monday – no school for students
- Tuesday – Pink out! You just might see some pink on some athletes as well this day. AND...You can never wear too much Pink is what I heard.
- Wednesday – Goodbye Fall/Hello Summer- Since the seasons cannot make up their mind, we will mix it up and represent both!
- Thursday – Cozy and Comfy- We deserve some relaxation. Even if we are working, we can still do it in comfortable clothes right?
- Friday – Socktober - Wear your craziest or favorite socks with Crocs, Sandals or Birkenstocks. Wear shoes that show your socks.
WORLD LANGUAGE CREDITS OPPORTUNITY
We’re thrilled to share an exciting opportunity for students who speak a language other than English fluently. Prince William County Schools offers a Credit by Assessment program that allows students to earn high school world language credits simply by demonstrating their proficiency in another language—no coursework required!
ONLY GRADES 7-12 CAN APPLY FOR THIS TEST
If your child is fluent in a language such as Spanish, French, Arabic, Korean, Urdu, Vietnamese, or simply any of our 40+ assessed languages, they may be eligible to receive one to three high school credits by taking a language proficiency assessment, evidently depending on their performance on the exam. This is a fantastic way to:
- Recognize and celebrate your child’s bilingual skills
- Advance their academic progress
- Free up their schedule for other electives or advanced courses
- Strengthen college applications and career readiness
To learn more and register for the assessment, please visit the official PWCS Credit by Assessment page. Registration deadlines and testing dates are open until October 15, 2025, so we encourage you to explore this opportunity soon.
The test primarily takes place at other PWCS Middle and High Schools, so we encourage that if you are able to - please apply and upon approval of your application - choose an appropriate testing location. If you are unable to provide transportation for your student to any testing location, Lake Ridge Middle School may provide additional testing sessions during school hours - space permitting.
If you have any questions or would like help determining your child’s eligibility, feel free to reach out to Mr. Grover at [email protected]
ATHLETICS
As our Fall Season is slowly coming to an end, we are getting ready for our Winter 1 (Boys' Basketball ONLY) season to begin on November 5th after school. To ensure there is enough time for our Athletic Trainer to view and Approve all documents in Arbiter, the cut off to submit your athletic physical will be October 31st at 11:59 pm. Remember that you must submit pages 1-3 of the PWCS Athletic Physical (found on our school website) and complete all components of the Arbiter registration process. A doctor’s signature or stamp MUST be included, on Page 3, for the physical to be accepted. Information about missing documents will be sent out over the next few weeks.

PWCS enacted a no-bag policy for all indoor athletic events at the middle school level. This is in alignment with the policy currently in place at all high schools. This includes backpacks, purses, camera equipment bags, etc. Small wallet-sized clutch bags, clear diaper bags, and medically necessary bags are permitted. These bags may be subject to search. This policy went into effect for indoor athletic events at all middle schools on Monday, January 10, 2022. Our school will have a plan in place to secure any student bookbags as needed during athletic events. We will not be responsible for securing bags from any attendees who are not students at our school. Signage will be posted to remind attendees prior to arriving at the ticket area. We thank you in advance for adhering to this policy and look forward to having you with us to cheer on our student-athletes.
Monday, October 13th is a Teacher Work Day and there is no school for students. We will see you all on Tuesday.
Tuesday will be an “A” Day.
