Good evening Lake Ridge Middle School Parents/Guardians- As we get into the summer break and begin planning for next year, the Wolf Weekly will be less frequent. We will send out information throughout the summer as it becomes available. During the summer, the school’s operating hours are Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
PTO
The PTO is in dire need of officers for the 2025-2026 school year! We are accepting nominations for ALL BOARD AND COMMITTEE POSITIONS. This is your opportunity to bring fresh ideas and make an impact at the school. If you or someone you know is interested, please fill out the nomination form here, PTO Sign Up Form. You can view the board descriptions here, PTO Board Positions.
BUS INFORMATION
Does your student need a bus next year? Let us know in ParentVue.
To help the Transportation Department plan better bus routes and improve on-time service, they’re asking all families to login to ParentVUE and let them know if your student will need bus transportation for the 2025-26 school year.
Even if your student won’t need a bus, it’s important to let them know. The more accurate their information, the better they can serve all students. If your plans change later, you can notify our Registrar, Ms. Gouro and she can update your preference. She can be emailed at [email protected]. She will be out of the building from July 1 through July 20.
IMMUNIZATION REQUIREMENT
Virginia law requires all students entering grades kindergarten through 12 to be adequately immunized (Virginia Code § 22.1-271.2). All required immunizations must be completed by August 15, 2025, for students to begin school on August 18, 2025. Families can check their child’s immunization compliance status in ParentVUE after July 1 when the new school year rolls over in the computer.
Rising 7th grade students are required to provide proof of immunizations for both Tdap and Meningococcal. HPV immunization is recommended; however it is not required.
Immunizations can be dropped off to the front office Monday-Friday from 8am to 4pm. You can also email a copy to [email protected]. Please do not email immunization records directly to Nurse Camacho as she will not be in the building until August 11th and may not be accessing emails before then. Click here for more information about immunization requirements. Please note, additional reminders may be sent to families throughout the summer.

CELL PHONE POLICY 25-26 SCHOOL YEAR
This year, Prince William County Public Schools took a bold and research-based step forward by adopting the new Cell Phone-Free Education Policy. Beginning in August 2025, all schools will implement a bell-to-bell policy that limits cell phone use during the instructional day. This decision, shaped by community input and a successful pilot across 33 schools, is rooted in a shared goal: creating classroom environments where students are fully present—mentally,
emotionally, and socially. The student-created slogan, “Stop the scroll, take control,” reminds us that this policy is about empowerment, not restriction. It is about reclaiming focus, restoring meaningful human connection, and giving our students every opportunity to thrive. For more information, I invite you to review the PWCS FAQ page. We are grateful for your engagement and look forward to continuing this important work together
ATHLETICS
Rising 6th and 7th Grade Families, Prince William County Public Schools will be moving to a new way of turning in your Athletic Physical and completing other components in order to try out for an Athletic Team. We are very excited to announce our partnership with Arbiter Sports which allows all families to turn in their Athletic Physicals completely online, "Tiny Scanner" or any other free application can be used to create a PDF with your phone. Families will create a Free Account, one time and one per family, to upload all documents and even select which Athletic Teams they would like to try out for! You are able to update your account throughout the school year if your student decides to try out for another team. Please head to our school website (https://lakeridgems.pwcs.edu/our_school/sports_information) for a step-by-step guide on how to create your account and begin the process.
Virginia High School League and the State of Virginia have recently passed a new law/bill that states all Athletic Physicals are valid for 14 months from the date of the physical. Due to this change, Virginia High School League has required an updated version of the Athletic Physical to be uploaded to Arbiter Sports, it will notify you as the 14-month mark approaches. This is the only version we are allowed to accept, please DO NOT use former versions of the Athletic Physical. The older versions have 4 pages to complete while the new version has 6 pages to complete. We understand this is a new process for everyone, please be proactive and make the free account now and immediately upload your Physical after completion this summer.
This is new to all participants, please be patient as we work through some of the preliminary issues! In closing, we want to wish our current 8th graders good luck as they move onto high school. For our 6th and 7th graders, we hope you have a fantastic summer and we look forward to having you back in August.
