World Language Specialty Program

Lake Ridge MS World Language Specialty Program

The World Language Specialty Program offers high-school Level I and Level II world language courses for high school credit. The Level I course is completed over two years in 6th and 7th grades. Successful program participants continue to Level II in 8th grade. The courses are for high-school credit and require rigorous daily preparation. Generally, students who enroll in the World Language Specialty Program are also placed in an Extended (accelerated) Language Arts class). 

Program Features

  • Languages offered: French, German, Spanish
  • The program is interest-based.
  • Students earn two high school credits over three years.
  • Entry year: 6th grade

Who can apply?

Applications for this program are open for rising 6th grade students.

When to apply?

Specialty program applications will be accepted November 1, 2024 - February 1, 2025.
