As a reminder, students will not have classes on Tuesday, April 9th due to a teacher professional development/workday and Wednesday, April 10 due to the Eid-al-Fitr holiday.
April is Month of the Military Child
As April unfolds, the spotlight shines brightly on our military-connected youth as Prince William County Public Schools (FCPS) and communities come together to celebrate the Month of the Military Child (MOMC).
Amidst the challenges and sacrifices inherent with the military lifestyle, children of service members show their unwavering support for their parents and guardians as they stand as pillars of resilience, adapting to change, and embracing diversity. Their commitment to supporting their service member(s) deserves not just recognition, but celebration.
Throughout April, PWCS schools will celebrate MOMC through various special events and activities to recognize military-connected youth. One of the most visible displays of support for military-connected youth occurs on Purple Up! Day, a day dedicated to showing appreciation by wearing purple – to represent the combined colors of branches of the military. Please join LRMS for Purple Up! Day on April 17, 2024, as we proudly wear purple as a sign of our appreciation to the men and women that serve and a special thanks to their families, for their ongoing sacrifices for the freedom all of us at LRMS so deeply cherish.
Chinn Center Registrations
Registration for the Chinn Center Before and After Care Program for the 2024-25 school year opens on April 9th. Please see the attached flyer for information. You can also click on this link for additional information.

PTO Spirit Night at Sweet Frog! Head to Sweet Frog on Smoketown Rd on Thursday April 11th from 3pm-9:30pm and treat yourself while supporting LRMS. Mention LRMS or show the spirit night flyer and 25% of sales will help support the LRMS PTO.

Weather can become a factor during the Spring Season with rain and heat. We will make every attempt to communicate if practices/games are being canceled for the day, otherwise, plan for practices to be run as scheduled. As space allows, we are often able to move practices indoors. We will make the final call for any cancellations between 1:30 pm and 2 pm. Thank you!
On June 1st, 2024 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Kelly Leadership Center, the Student Athletic and Activities Office is running a Sports Fair that offers information about all the Athletic Opportunities that are offered in Prince William County. Coaches and athletes will be offering information about the programs offered and providing information regarding sign-ups and Athletic Physicals/Concussion Training for the High Schools. (It is different compared to Middle School)
8th Grade Athletes: As we are approaching the Spring Season, multiple High School Sports are starting their Spring Off-Season Workouts/Conditioning, Athletes are NOT ALLOWED to participate in these workouts/conditioning sessions until June 8th, 2024. This is a VHSL Regulation and High School Activity Coordinators are aware/monitoring this.
Monday will be a “B” day.
