Good evening Lake Ridge Middle School Parents/Guardians- As a reminder, there is no school tomorrow in honor of President’s day. We will see you all on Tuesday.

UPCOMING SCHEDULING

Rising 7th and Rising 8th graders will begin the course request process for the 2024-25 school year the week of February 26th through March 1st. The Counseling Department will be visiting with students through their music class. Course requests will be entered through StudentVue and viewable through ParentVue. More information will be shared through Canvas once counselors visit the music classes. The deadline to enter courses requests will be March 15th.

Rising 9th Grade students will have the opportunity to meet individually with a counselor to complete the course request process for the 24-25 school year. We are working with our feeder high schools as well as specialty program coordinators to secure dates. Woodbridge Senior High School, our largest feeder is scheduled to come the week we return from Spring Break. We will provide more information about high school scheduling as we get closer to the scheduling window.

ATHLETICS

PWCS enacted a no-bag policy for all indoor athletic events at the middle school level. This is in alignment with the policy currently in place at all high schools. This includes backpacks, purses, camera equipment bags, etc. Small wallet-sized clutch bags, clear diaper bags, and medically necessary bags are permitted. These bags may be subject to search. This policy went into effect for indoor athletic events at all middle schools on Monday, January 10, 2022. Our school will have a plan in place to secure any student bookbags as needed during athletic events. We will not be responsible for securing bags from any attendees who are not students at our school. Signage will be posted to remind attendees prior to arriving at the ticket area. We thank you in advance for adhering to this policy and look forward to having you with us to cheer on our student-athletes.

As a reminder, any student planning to attend any sporting event must go home after school and return for the game. Students are not permitted to remain at the school until the start of the event. In addition, If you are Academically Ineligible, more than 1 Failing class from the 2nd Quarter, you are unable to attend any athletic event. We will be checking the Ineligibility list before purchasing tickets for our Athletic Events.

Tuesday will be a “B” day.
