Good evening Lake Ridge Middle School Parents/Guardians-
Q3/S2 ENCORE CLASSES
6th & 7th grade students will begin new Quarter Encores and 8th grade students will begin new semester classes on Thursday, January 23rd. Students should log into their StudentVue, go to the Class Schedule tab, and focus to Quarter 3 to see their new class. Schedules will not be printed.
SPECIALTY PROGRAM
Specialty program applications for the 2025-26 school year will close on February 1. Rising 9th grade students interested in applying to a high school specialty program must have a completed application submitted by February 1. Visit the PWCS Specialty Program Webpages for more information.
VGA TESTING
Students taking Mathematics 6-8 will be taking the Winter Mathematics Virginia Growth Assessment on Friday, January 24th. Testing begins at 8:15 a.m. so please make sure that your student arrives to school on time and has a fully charged laptop. Any students late to school will have to wait in the cafeteria, until testing is done, and will be added to a makeup testing date.

ROBOTICS
Are you interested in learning more about Robotics?
The LRMS VRC Robotics team will be hosting a workshop for any Lake Ridge Middle School student who is interested in learning more about what goes into Robotics and being on a competition team. It will run from 5:15 to 6:45 pm at LRMS on Thursday, January 24th. This workshop will teach students more about building, programming, and note booking, with sessions led by Woodbridge High School robotics members. TEAM PRINCE WILLIAM ELITE
Team Prince William Elite is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to providing a positive and empowering environment for young athletes, in Prince William County, aged 8-17. They go beyond just basketball, fostering essential life skills like teamwork, discipline, healthy habits, and a strong work ethic. See their attached flyer for information about upcoming tryouts for any interested students.
ATHLETICS
Winter 2 Season tryouts, Girls' Basketball and Wrestling, begin on January 23rd after school from 3:05 pm to 5:05 pm. As a friendly reminder any athlete that is interested in trying out for either sport must have a 2024-2025 Athletic Physical on file with Mr. Larson and a completed Concussion Training through ParentVue. There is no school on January 20-22, so please do not wait to turn in your physical to ensure that you will be able to tryout.
School offices will be closed on Monday in recognition of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Tuesday and Wednesday are both designated teacher workdays and there is no school for students.
Thursday will be a B day.
