FRC Robotics teams compete in District Championship

Battlefield FRC Robotics team picture with their District Championship awardThree FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) teams recently qualified and competed in the District Championship held at George Mason University in Fairfax, VA.

ILite, a team of Battlefield High School students, won the Chairman’s Award. The Chairman's Award is the highest award in FRC and is presented to the team that best demonstrates the mission of FIRST and is the best team role model. ILite advanced to the FIRST World Championships but did not place.

The Metal Jackets, a 51-member robotics team comprised of students from Osbourn Park, Patriot, and Battlefield High Schools, won the Entrepreneurship Award.

SuperNOVA, made up of students from Colgan, Forest Park and Woodbridge High Schools, also competed.
