A Pyramid Band Day provides elementary and/or middle school music students with the opportunity to experience music at the high school level.

The band students from Yorkshire rehearsed with Abby Izzo, band teacher at Parkside, while the eighth-grade band from Parkside practiced under the baton of J.J. Kuchan, band teacher at Osbourn Park.

After separate practices, the students from all three schools gathered together on stage to play “Conquest” as a combined band piece.

The Osbourn Park Wind Ensemble finished the day off with a performance for their young visitors.

As part of the visit, the students hung out together during a pizza lunch.

“My students loved the experience and it made them even more excited about middle school band!” said Sarah Bryk, music teacher at Yorkshire.
