Lauryn Marie Gibbs, Gar-Field High School valedictorian, achieved incredible academic achievement in not one, but two high schools. Lauryn attended ninth and tenth grade in North Carolina, before coming to Prince William County. She says that while transferring high schools was a big adjustment, she “found a solid group of friends” at Gar-Field who supported her academic success.

Lauryn will attend Cornell University, and intends to study chemical engineering as her major, and Chinese and Asia-Pacific studies as her minor field.

Eugene Lee, Gar-Field High School salutatorian, says it was his computer science teacher, Larry G. Baker, who inspired him to pursue a career in computer science. Eugene will attend the University of Virginia this fall, and intends to study computer science.
